Samsung Galaxy Note 3 To Sport 6.3-inch Display?

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 To Sport 6.3-inch Display?Read more at http://www.iphonenewz.us/2012/12/samsung-galaxy-note-3-to-sport-63-inch.html#YxUKK1XKse8OmYOh.99

All right, the entire phablet thing is starting to get ridiculous, size-wise. After all, it seems that the latest bit of news going around would be the next generation Samsung Galaxy Note, which would clearly make it the third iteration of the series, as the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The kicker about the Galaxy Note 3, if true, would be this - it will come with a 6.3-inch display, which is a massive jump from the current 5.5-inch display on the Galaxy Note 2.
A report from Korea Times did mention in passing that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will sport the aforementioned 6.3-inch display while relying on OLED technology to get the job done, and this bit of information was relayed by officials from a local parts suppliers There is very little else known about the speculated Galaxy Note 3,
as the Galaxy Note 2 was just released recently. Assuming that the 6.3-inch OLED display becomes reality, it would certainly stretch the lines of the phablet market literally. Could this just be a misunderstanding or having the message lost in translation, concerning the possibility of a mid-range Galaxy Note tablet that measures 7-inches in size?
Do you think that 6.3-inches of viewing real estate is far too large for a phablet? After all, handling a 5.5-inch Galaxy Note 2 as a phone is already quite challenging for those of us with small hands, what more a behemoth that adds another 0.8-inches of viewing real estate diagonally across? Only time will tell whether the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be released as touted here, so it is time to play the patience card once again. Hopefully, we will not need to wait too long to find out.
One thing’s for sure, if the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 really carries a 6.3-inch display, it would be the perfect phone for Wreck It Ralph.

With the holiday shopping season in full swing, we've been highlighting several increasingly good deals on the iPhone 5, and Walmart is now launching new discounts on both the iPhone and iPad that may be of interest to some readers.

Starting today, Walmart has dropped prices on both the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S, with the 16 GB iPhone 5 now on sale for just $127 and the iPhone 4S coming in at $47.
In addition, Walmart is now selling the latest fourth-generation 16 GB Wi-Fi iPad for just $399, a $100 discount from standard pricing. And beginning on Monday, Walmart will also include a $30 iTunes gift card bonus with iPad purchases.

Despite the iPhone 5 having launched in the United States less than three months ago, retailers are offering aggressive discounts on the devices to attract holiday shoppers. RadioShack is currently offering all iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S models at $50 discounts from their regular prices, and also offering email coupons for $10 credit on future purchases for every $50 spent during the holiday shopping season. RadioShack also offers price matching through its Mobile Low Price Guarantee, suggesting that it is likely to match Walmart's discounted pricing upon request.

Update: Wal-Mart spokesperson Sarah Spencer gave MacRumors this statement regarding inventory of the products on sale. Something to keep in mind for people thinking of taking advantage of the promotions:
Walmart works closely with Apple to secure some of the strongest allocations of their products. That being said, inventory is a first come first serve basis so we recommend customers come early to secure their Apple product. We will not offer rain checks but customers should know we will be refreshing our inventory on an ongoing basis.
Update 2: Walmart has contacted MacRumors to note that it erred in stating that the iPad promotion was for the current generation. It is in fact the third-generation iPad that is on closeout sale for $399.

GOOGLE RELEASES MAPS FOR IOS – SHOULD APPLE OR ANDROID USERS BE MAD?

GOOGLE RELEASES MAPS FOR IOS – SHOULD APPLE OR ANDROID USERS BE MAD?

After murmurings and whispers that Google was readying a doozy of a release for iOS users, tonight, Google has officially released their world famous Maps application into the Apple App Store. Built from the ground up, the new Maps for iOS features most everything Android users have been enjoying for years now, including voice-guided, turn-by-turn navigation, traffic conditions, Street View, over 80 million business listings with store hours, phone numbers, and more. Google really pulled out all the stops, ensuring iOS users got the full Maps experience (the one Apple didn’t want their users to have). What’s more is Google is providing an SDK for developers to implement Maps into their own apps — something Apple cannot be too happy about.
iOS users flocked to the App Store for Maps, crashing it in the process
My question to you guys is, do you think Google releasing Maps for iOS is more of a slap in the face to Apple, or to Android users? I’ve seen a lot of chatter on Twitter and the question many Android users are asking themselves is, “Why would Google release Maps — a shining jewel in the crown of Android — for a rival OS? Sounds like madness, right? No… this is Google.
Remember, the sole reason Google created Android in the first place as open software alternative to iOS was so that so that manufacturers from all around the world could put Android on the device of their choosing. All without the worry of licensing fees or hassle. Heck, OEM’s could even theme Android as they saw fit, themeing and transforming the mobile OS into something that was uniquely “theirs.” Almost like the Trojan Horse of lore, the motivation behind Android has always been about one thing: getting as many Google apps and services into as many consumers’ hands as possible.
Maps is iPhone-only for now. Not optimized for the iPad
Where your average Android fanboy wants nothing to do with Apple, Google isn’t so much concerned with their pride as they are with good business. Google knows Android already controls the market share with no signs of slowing down. Still, Apple’s iPhone has shown itself time, and time again, a hit with consumers and it only makes sense, from a business perspective, to reach that audience as well. Crazy you say? Crazy like a fox.
So, where some of you might get your feelings hurt at Google sharing — not taking away — one more thing with iOS users, this isn’t something that will soon change. Heck, Google would even release their apps for Windows Phone. You know, if they had any users that is.
